John Jay Baseball Set for Repeat as CUNYAC Champions, Will Face CSI on Tuesday

New York, N.Y.— The John Jay baseball team is in the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) championship game for the third year in a row, and for the second time in three seasons the Bloodhounds will square off with the College of Staten Island on Tue. May 13 at 4 p.m. If John Jay loses that contest, another game will follow at 7 p.m. If John Jay wins the 4 p.m. game, the Bloodhounds will be crowned CUNYAC champions for the second year in a row.



John Jay Providing Fan Bus for Baseball Championship Game on Tuesday

John Jay College of Criminal Justice Department of Physical Education and Athletics has announced that it will be providing a fan bus for students, faculty and staff who are interested in attending the 2008 CUNYAC baseball championship game(s) between John Jay and the College of Staten Island at the College of Staten Island Baseball Complex. The bus will be leaving from in front of Haaran Hall (899 Tenth Avenue) at 3 p.m. sharp. For those interested in attending the game on the bus can sign up at the third floor cage to reserve a spot or contact Laura Drazdowski for more information at (646) 557-4528. Please be advised if John Jay loses the first game, there will be another game to follow. The bus will leave Staten Island at the conclusion of the last game.


Monday's Conference Championship Game Postponed Until Tuesday

Due to poor weather conditions, today’s CUNYAC championship baseball game between John Jay and the College of Staten Island has been postponed. The makeup date has been rescheduled for Tue. May 13 at 4 p.m. An if necessary second game is scheduled for 7 p.m. John Jay needs just one win to capture the conference championship for the second year in a row. The Bloodhounds defeated the College of Staten Island, 14-12 in 10 innings on Saturday in a winner’s bracket game to advance to the championship. The College of Staten Island defeated Lehman College, 13-6, in the second elimination game to advance.
