Rifle Earns Championship, Wins MAC for Fourth Time in Five Years

Cambridge, Mass.— Another week and another championship for the John Jay College athletics department. This time the rifle team came out on top as the Bloodhounds, for the fourth time in five years, took home the gold winning the Mid Atlantic Conference rifle championship.
 
John Jay won in both disciplines, winning in small bore 2028-1909 over Massachusetts Maritime, and in air rifle John Jay fired a 2131 to defeat SUNY Maritime (2095) and Massachusetts Maritime (1984).
 
As all season long, Stephen Wilson (Freeport, NY / Freeport) fired a team-high in both disciplines. He drilled a 562 in small bore and recorded a 548 in air rifle to lead the Bloodhounds to victory.
 
Teammate Dmitry Gordeychuk (Kiev, Ukraine / N42) ripped a 524 in small bore and a 517 in air rifle to help distance the Bloodhounds from the competition. Jenny Cho (Woodside, NY / Jung-Bal) fired a 478 in small bore and a 538 in air rifle, while Michael Gorini (Brooklyn, NY / Xavier) drilled a 464 in small bore to round out the discipline. In air rifle Ema Andritoiu (Brooklyn, NY / James Madison) had a 528.
