John Jay Rifle Sweeps U.S. Coast Guard Academy

New London, Conn. — The John Jay College of Criminal Justice rifle team picked up wins in smallbore and air rifle on Saturday against the United States Coast Guard Academy. The Bloodhounds won 2121-2101 in smallbore before winning 2220-2166 in air rifle.
In smallbore, Stephen Zawislak (Valley Stream, NY, Valley Stream South)fired a team-high 562, while fellow teammate Stephen Wilson (Freeport, NY, Freeport) recorded a 560. Jenna Hansen (Middletown, NY, Middletown) scored a 513 for John Jay and Janet Pepple (Bronx, NY, Herbert H. Lehman) scored a 486.
In air rifle, John Jay was led by Wilson with a 565, while Zawislak fired a 562. Hansen scored a 556 and Pepple fired a 537 in the win.
The rifle team returns to action on Sat. Nov. 21 for a match at the University of the Sciences.
