John Jay Rifle Loses at University of the Sciences

Philadelphia, Pa. — The John Jay College of Criminal Justice rifle team suffered a pair of losses on Saturday as the Bloodhounds were defeated by the University of the Sciences in small bore and air rifle. John Jay lost in small bore 2219-2094, while in air rifle the Bloodhounds were defeated 2247-2239.

In small bore, Stephen Wilson (Freeport, NY, Freeport) led the way with a 567, while fellow teammate Stephen Zawislak (Valley Stream, NY, Valley Stream South)fired a 565. Jenna Hansen (Middletown, NY, Middletown) scored a 537 and Robert Alimena (Brooklyn, NY, St. Edmunds)fired a 425. Janet Pepple (Bronx, NY, Herbert H. Lehman), who did not shoot for a score, fired a 470 and Willard Finch (Goshen, NY, John S. Burke Catholic), whose score also did not count, fired a 463.

In air rifle, Wilson set another school record with a 579, while Zawislak scored a 572. Hansen scored a 564 and Pepple a 524. Not shooting for a score was Christian Arguello (Mexico, Harry S. Truman)who shot a 447 and Alimena who fired a 487.
