The John Jay softball team defeated Hunter College 7-5 in eight innings in the first elimination game of the 2010 City University of New York Athletic Conference softball championship at the College of Staten island Softball Complex. The Bloodhounds will now face the loser of the winner's bracket game between Baruch College and the College of Staten Island (that game was halted on Friday evening because of darkness with the score tied 0-0 in the top of the ninth inning, and will resume on Saturday morning at 10 a.m. Below is the schedule for the remainder of the tournament:
Saturday May 8
Game 4: Baruch vs, CSI (10am) (Continuation from Friday afternoon... game tied 0-0, ninth inning)
Game 5: John Jay vs. Baruch / CSI loser (10:30am)
Game 6: Game 4 winner vs. Game 5 winner (12:30pm)
Game 7: Rematch of Game 6 if necessary (2:30) (for John Jay to win the championship there must be a game 7)
