New York, N.Y.— The John Jay College of Criminal Justice men’s cross country team is looking solid as the Bloodhounds are set for another fantastic campaign.

Backed by their fifth year head coach, Tony Phillips, John Jay is looking to improve off of their third place finish in the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) meet. And with a healthy amount of talent on the roster, which includes talented returnees and good newcomers, the Bloodhounds expect to be a threat at each invitational.

This season the Bloodhounds welcome back Jessie Contrera, Antonio Aguilar and Mark Benjamin.

A solid pair of newcomers include Juan Corredor and Gabriel Romero.

“We expect the men to challenge for the CUNY title this year based on experience runners returning and some key additions,” said Phillips.

To prepare for the conference meet on Oct. 31, the Bloodhounds will compete at Van Cortlandt Park at the Baruch Invitational, Hunter Invitational, College of Staten Island Invitational and Brooklyn Invitational. Outside of Van Cortlandt, John Jay will compete at the Vassar Invitational, Stevens Institute of Technology Invitational and Western New England Invitational.
