New York, N.Y.— The City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) has announced the John Jay College of Criminal Justice women's basketball player
Jamecia Forsythe has been named the conference's Player of the Week for the week ending January 15.
Forsythe had an fantastic week that saw the Bloodhounds split a pair of games, which included a win over conference foe the City College of New York (CCNY).
The sophomore forward opened the week with a 15 point, six rebound effort in a game at SUNY Purchase on January 9.
Forsythe followed that up with an overwhelming performance against CCNY where she recorded 20 points, grabbed 20 rebounds and blocked six shots en route to a 60-56 win over the Beavers.
Through 14 games this season, Forsythe is averaging a double-double of 12.2 points and 10.5 rebounds. She is also averaging 2.4 blocked shots per game which not only leads the conference, but ranks her 32nd in the nation.
