Recreational opportunities are available Monday through Saturday in a variety of outlets. Cardiovascular Fitness Center and Strength Training Room; Swimming Pool; Free play basketball, soccer, volleyball in the Gymnasia; Tennis Court; Racquetball Court; Outdoor Running Track; Dance Studio; Combatives Room.


Gymnasium: (4th Floor)
There are two gyms; the larger gym has 6 baskets; both gyms have set-ups for volleyball.
Open Recreational Hours: Monday - Friday from 10am - 12pm & 1:30pm - 2:50pm.

Cardiovascular Fitness Center and Strength Training Room: (6th Floor)
Check Facility schedule for hours of operation. 

The purpose of the Cardiovascular Fitness Center is to enhance the cardiovascular fitness of the participants through regular prescribed exercise. New members must provide medical clearance, be scheduled for a fitness evaluation, and observe a demonstration of equipment. State-of-the-art equipment includes rowing ergometers, stationary bicycles, quinton treadmills, stairmasters, Nordic Tracks, 1,000 pounds of plates, 1,000 pounds of dumbbells, paramount multi-station machine, and Universal, Nautilus and Eagle machines.

Pool: (Lower C-Level)
We have a 25-yard pool with 5 lanes which is divided up for lap swimming and recreation.

Racquetball Court: (4th Floor Auxiliary Gym)
There is one 4-walled racquetball/handball court.
Reserve in advance on sign-up sheet located at 3rd floor Equipment Cage.
Sign-ups are for one-hour intervals.
Closed until Friday, March 7.

Outdoor Running Track: (Roof)
The running track is located on the 6th floor roof and is 12 laps to the mile.

Tennis Court: (6th Floor)
The regulation doubles tennis court is located on the 6th floor rooftop.
Reserve in advance on sign-up sheet located at the 3rd floor Equipment Cage.

Rifle Range: (4th Floor Auxiliary Gym)
Home to the John Jay Rifle team. Range accomodates only Air-Rifle.

Dance Studio: (Lower C-Level)
Located next to the John Jay pool. Available for dance classes, Zumba, and Yoga.

Equipment Cage: (3rd Floor)
Basketballs, tennis racquets and balls, racquetball racquets, and other recreation equipment may be obtained with proper John Jay ID.

Locker Rooms: (3rd Floor and Pool)
Locker rooms are available 1/2 hour before and after the facilities open and close. Members must bring their own locks for daily use lockers. Box lockers with built-in combination locks may be purchased by members for overnight storage.
